Victim of Server Issues

Postby SynthAura » Sun Sep 08, 2013 6:33 pm

I think I may have been the victim of some sort of server rollback or something. I left my character online overnight last night to get his belief points, and I woke up this morning and his belief point timer had been set back to 9 hours remaining from 4 hours remained when I went to bed. My main concern is that my Pearl Necklace and 2 Rings of Brodgar disappeared from my character. :( I know there is 0% chance they were taken by actual in-game means because when I logged into my character he was overstuffed. He was not overstuffed before I went to bed, but he was overstuffed a couple of hours before I went to bed. When I went to bed his yellow bar was halfway down, now he is overstuffed. The only thing I can think of how my rings disappeared and my belief point timer was actual set back in time before I left him online when I went to bed is that some sort of server issue occurred and it set my character back to an hour before I went to bed last night because my belief timer is the same as then, my equipment is the same as then, and my hunger bar is the same as then. My account was also taken offline when I woke up, but I figured that was natural considering the server may have gone down for a second while I was asleep.

To further prove that there was no way this could have happened by in-game means (other than the obvious that I went to bed hungry and woke up overstuffed and with missing equipment replaced with earlier equipment) is that I was inside a house inside a brick wall which I patroled for rams and leanto's right before bed and I have no scents plus my hearth fire is also in the walled house and no one else lives with me.

If anyone could help me in seeking my items back, I can give any info needed. This is obviously some issue with the server and I feel I shouldn't lose my best valuables because of it. Please give me any info I could possibly use to recover my items. Thank you.

Current Status

Haven and Hearth is currently in what we consider alpha status. In practice, this means that we have most of the core functionalities in place, those crucial gimmicks and widgets that allow the game to run and people to connect and play. However, much of the higher-level functionality is either missing or only partially implemented. Also, because some functionality is partially implemented, the persistent data in the game can be rather unstable. For example, we might have to remove the maps from time to time when we implement a new map generator.

Thanks for the info Borka, but does this mean my rings and necklace have literally disappeared? And there's no way I can have them returned?

How did you lose jewelry on an AFK character? I thought only things that were modified or changed within the effected time period have the chance to disappear?

My account must have been force-logged out when the rollback occured, all of my stats, hunger, and equipment was reverted to 1 hour and 15 mins before I went to sleep, and my necklace and rings disappeared.

That really sucks dude :/ I spent every bit of valuable curio I had on my rings yesterday and ended up losing them to a rollback, plus my PNeck which I spent many hours gathering pearls for... :(
