Anything I should know besides what was said in Announcements? Any settlement willing to accept a newbie?

Dont start without a good custom client and get all bots, then you can play.

Cant see good HnH experience if anyone gets unfair advantage due to bots.

You can have a good experience without bots. Just be aware that they're there and if farming or something else gets too tedious, then there's a bot for it if your having fun with the rest of the game.

Yes, keep in mind that 2 years ago the Hearthlands may have been a slightly more civilized place. These days you are best to err on the side of caution when dealing with other players (I'm sure you have some idea on what to do here) as well as utilize the advantages you now have at your disposal thanks to a number of different people/programmers over the past couple of years.
