Talk of Robbery

Postby Whitehyena » Tue Oct 15, 2013 2:12 pm

So I suppose this little forum will be for what I only imagine has happened to most of you at one point in your HnH careeeeeeer.... ROBBERY. I'd be willing to be everyone has had something stolen from them, even if it was as minute as a pumpkin, or even your entire village... This is just to tell others, and kind of vent if you will. Maybe share some funny stories, or tell about how it made you feel. 'Cause feelin's on the internet make e'rry thing better.

As I detailed in my 'How to' post on the forums, my worst case of being burgled happened as I finally set up my claim. I'd worked up deh four t'ousand points for Yeomanry, through sweat and tears of catching dragonflies, and making the terribly slow toy chariots, and breaking chicken's necks for their wishbones... Maybe it wasn't all too hard.... But it was GOLDEN. So, I started building my claim stake, and do what any rational person does, stow their inventory in a secure chest. I put it in a coffer inside my house. You know, all it was was the things that I saw valuable: An Itsy Bitsy Spider, like, two wishbones, two emerald dragonflies, and a handful toy chariots.... Mind you, I've seen NOONE up to this point. No passerbys. No scavengers. No nuffin'. Not even really signs of life.... A few personal claims, but they are REAL FAR north, and really not all that big or fancy, don't even have a palisade yet either. So, after I built my stake, I didn't have enough LP to make it real big. Big enough to cover my house. And the entrance. I was like, 'Hey, dat's good enough, me.' I can extend it more after tomorrow, when I wake up and I have ELLLL PEEEEE!

And as tomorrow caaaame....

Woke up, and first thing I did when I got up was get on HnH! I was like, YEH! And I logged in and got like, 3000 LP, which a big deal for me back then. I still wouldn't look astray at 3000 lp. But as I got out of my bed, and went outside to stake more claim, I saw it!

A coffer, laying on the ground!

I was like, YEAH! Someone left me something! My good deeds are starting to pay off! Because, even though I had seen noone at these other small claims, I would still leave them a crate, with gifts, and a rune, telling them it was a gift. I mean, it was nothing big. Maybe a toy chariot, a few dead bunnies, and maybe a nettle shirt if I could find that shiz layin' around.

So, I went over to it,and opened it up. And it was empty.

Uh. Huh.

Well, that's okay guys. ITS A COFFER. That's not not got'dang crate. Dats twenty FIVE space slots, not just some piece'a neefphhh... crate! So I'll take it inside and put it beside my other co...ffer....

Where is my coffer? It's not in my house...

*The closest visual representation of my face as I slowly realized what happened.*

M-my... Valuables... They.... didn't take the worthless stuff like the hordes of chick meat... or.... feathers... or... other stuff... Just all my valuable curios...

So. I got robbed. Sadface.

But at the same time, I really didn't get too down on myself. I had previously convinced myself that this was a 'Free for all' game, and anything could happen. So, I guess I was kind of already told myself not to be surprised if that crap happened. And, I later reconsiled myself: If he had enough LP to get the Trespassing skill, he PROBABLY could've beat me to death with a dogshit on the end of a stick (seeing how FAUKIN' ANTS still give me a run for my money....). So weither or not I was awake or not really didn't matter. It's not like I could've stopped him. But in the end, I guess that's how the cookie crumbles.

Anyone else have another experience that they'd like to share?

"mister troll" name is too much for him, only call him "shitposter" or simply faggot., is more related to his current role.

Eh. I imagine that he's been here a while. I really don't care that he's trying to troll. Or... well... successfully trolling I guess. We're all here to have fun. That's just the nature of the forum. But let's get on topic, shall we all? Got a story of being burgled you wish to share? Anyone?

P.S.
I do tend to talk like I type; over exaggerate everything and make weird sounds with your mouth. I take the Jon Jafari approach to be funny on the interwebs.
