Brodgar has a copper mine, we're pretty easy to find, speak to myself, bullmax or Krix in game if you see us on.

EDIT:
we're also a fairly new player friendly city, open immigration, and lots of people prepared to help you out with tips, advice etc.

If you play for a while without seeing anyone, I recommend picking branches, building fires and lighting them, until you get 200 LP and then buy yourself pottery skill, go to a river and dig clay from the shallow water and make teapots and drop them to get LP fast.

Use your pottery LP to get foraging -> plant lore -> farming -> baking -> sewing
Then you'll be able to feed yourself better food than apples, and produce linen, which is the defacto noob currency at the moment

Truthfully, though, I'd suggest taking Trav's offer, Brodgar has a lot to offer for new players, and you'll probably learn a bit.
