I logged in today and noted that several players were stopped from digging into my mine by my claim alone, in fact there is a large square circling my claim, but nothing touching the inside. in the long run (at least 2 months) the new claim damage has been good for that. I also noted that the few AD members on my kin list haven't been logged in in that same span of time though they may have died or something. the game is running smoothly still, so thats nice, but what about factions? no significant changes in the game itself I see, but what about territory borders? how about wreckage? is this world as full of ruin as w6 was at its end yet? who are the pretenders, and who are the real lords of the hearthlands. or at least the people who claim to be.
Ofc W6 was bigger wasteland cuz more time, but you can compare them. I'd say something like (don't get me wrong, not trying to use maths, just illustrating the situation) the number of players gets square rooted all the time so, in the beginning is most players, then it quickly becomes many ruins, but from this point to end point in W6 I don't think many ruins would have been made.
So yeah it's pretty much a wasteland.
