Most of those that get in the spotlight don't really lose it. However, look at your examples. A small change here or there, and those guys could be on the FBI or Interpol most wanted list. Pirates are pirates whether you put them in a business suit and give them a license to steal or leave them grubbing on the streets for the next score.

There's a difference between businessmen and financial firms/central banks/mercantilist corporations protected by the government.

A real businessman in a free market society would have to strive and compete to serve you, the consumer. Only then would he be successful, if he succeeds at pleasing you first.
