What? Even World 5 (which was the worst as far as a major crash died prematurely) was older than world 7 is now.
The start of a world for many is much more fun. There is exploring and all that good stuff, and everything you do matters more. After 6+ months of a world, it starts to decline. Now it hits the point where anything but a brickwall is easily bashable by assorted villages, and you cant go anywhere without begin ganged by a random group of 3+ dragon helms.
As opposed to being ganged by a random group of bear cloaks? If a ganksquad is out, early world or late world, you're still screwed. At the beginning of the world competition for basic resources is much more cutthroat as well.
Morale of the story, there's nothing more fun then spawning random in the wild on day 1 of the world and exploring around and making a nice little base and growing with your neighbors. This game wasnt made to last a year every world.
First off, while I like the aspect of exploration and whatnot, it's also a pretty boring game early on without uined settlements, which are much more fun to explore than the basic world. Until the worldgen changes (since really the geography isn't anything different since like world 3 for the most part), once you've explored one supergrid, you've essentially seen them all.
