Noob Village - Rise to Power

Postby MissSiri » Tue Jan 07, 2014 11:05 pm

I've decided to chronicle the progress of this small village of new players.

Day One
I was boating about, when I came across a random new player.

I offered him help, gave him a few items, killed a boar, etc., and he then informed me that he was the leader of a group of five.
Following him back to his the camp they had found abandoned, it became apparent that they would benefit from some assistance.

I set forth introducing them to the basic concepts of the game, giving them some mediocre curios, etc.
Luckily, they were glad to receive help, and seemed to be adjusting well.

I planted several q100-200 seeds in their field, repaired their drying racks, and advised them to do the same until they got a Pclaim up.

Day Two
I returned the next day to learn that the previous leader of the group had died, but several new members had joined.
The death had prompted them to begin work on a wall, and with a few boar kills, the corner was built.
Image

They still had some new-player questions, but were beginning to become self-sufficient.

I also supplied them with a few more curios. (Mostly stuff I foraged on the way there :P)

Day Three
Business as usual, progress was being made on the wall, etc.
However, while I was out foraging, a raider attacked the camp, killing one of the members.
Based on the description the other members gave, I figured I could beat him, so I waited in the camp, and predictably, he came back for more "fun".
He was somewhat surprised when I came out of the log cabin to meet him though.

Day Four

With the wall finished, they decided it would be prudent to look for metal.
Rather than having them spend weeks building a mine hole, I bashed the Pclaim on a nearby cave.
Not before they trespassed all over it though :P

Several gauzes were made.

Peculiarly, they still put all of their leather into a minehole, luckily it wasn't built yet.

Base looks about the same as yesterday, with a few more boats :)

I'm jealous. My favorite thing is to find new players and help them out; I think that part of the game is my favorite, and being able to rediscover the game through the viewpoint of new players helps me remember those times. :)

Too bad I'm too paranoid to travel anymore, so I never meet any newbies anymore. :?

Day Five

Farms were farmed, pavement was paved, and storage was organized.
I supplied them with mining equipment, and ceremonial boars were slain in preparation for the village idol.

Things ran smoothly, then this little tidbit:

Two minutes later, we lost a good friend.
Funeral services were held at 7 PM.

V-Idol was completed, though I forgot to snapshot it.
Will upload later :P
