I don't understand

I thought this place was burned to hell.
How can it still be active if this thing got ditched for another college project?

I don't understand, what is there to develop? Didn't Jorb leave the team back in 2010?

Lol a lot of gamea are no longer being developed all over the place. Doea it make them less fun to play? Asblong as the game is fun, there will be a community. Im not sure how you even got to the conclusion that if is no longer developed it should he abandoned.

"Lol no one develops Diablo 2 anymore therefore no one can play it"

Also Jorb is still developing it anyway derp, go check announcments. He's working of Haven 2.0/Hafen atm.

There was a moment when it is announced that Terraria was no longer being developed (this was before Redigit came back) but the community of the game is still strong. Likewise, Stars! was no longer sold and became abandonware but people kept the game alive for decades by distributing shared copies while having an active and strong community. Other mentions include Master of Orion 2 (people avoid MoO3 understandably), VGA planet, Master of Magic, and the Tales of Phantasy/Star Ocean SNES (good old games will get translations especially from Dejan). If a game is particularly good, people will keep it alive.

You're right, it's only common sense. I think my question was more along driven how the servers are still up, but like I saw, apparently 2.0 and shit is rolling in.

Are the servers still laggy as fuck?

I cannot say for myself since I am not actively playing but I think others can speak on the game's behalf. Were you around during start-mid world 3 or mid-end of world 6? I recall those were the interval of moments between the lag-less sessions.

And Haven 2.0 is renamed Hafen (don't ask about the name) as their next project.

Start of World 3 to the end of world 5 I would think.
