Tales of How you drownes

Postby shadowchris » Mon Jun 02, 2014 5:22 pm

Drowning is a tragic but entertaining story to hear. And we haven't had one of these threads in a while.

I remember in w5(I don't play anymore)I killed myself on the last tile of a rivr when the game sent me back in the middle of the river. Which screws me over because it fucked us drinking while swimming.

When I was a nab I had just found out about the water bug and tried to cross a river with completely insufficient con, but i started drinking as soon as i hit the water and then maxed out on stam and stopped drinking. I didn't realize it until I was halfway in.
Of another era.

Similar story here, I was at a friend's house and I logged onto Haven just to show him this cool new swimming bug, I can now cross a river with 13 constitution. I did the smart thing and plowed 1 tile before going so my stam doesn't max out, but I pressed the drink hotkey while I was in water and didn't notice that my stamina is falling rapidly. My friend then proceeded to roll on the floor uncontrollably laughing while I contemplated on the stupidest way to die as an early hearthling.

Oh mines a bit bore silly I guess. Real early last world one of those graphic variations made it look like there was cave clay in the pool I was near. I jump in get there to realize its not clay then it hits me cave clay does not spawn in deep pools. I can laugh now but it was not my brightest moment. :)

Burgingham used to swim with like less than 100 cons in W2 swimming was suicidal back then unless u know how to exploit it.

In early worlds there was some kind of message (I don't remember it exactly) that said "welcome to haven and hearth-don't buy swimming" when you logged on. OMG with a message like that how could I possibly NOT buy swimming?! So yeah, I probably drowned 2 minutes later. I just couldn't help myself.

In world 3 the majority of the deaths in my village were caused by drowning. Partly because players would rather drown than die in combat and partly because people were idiots and we lived next to a lake. I'll admit I nearly drowned on at least one occasion but this isn't a thread about almost drowning while exploring a cave. This is a thread about drowning, so one time a farmer in my village decided to gather up silk and cheese to transport them across a river, started swimming so he wouldn't have to grab a boat, and drowned with them all. I was nonplussed with the situation.
