Does anyone speak Swedish (well enough to translate)?

Postby the_portals » Tue Jun 17, 2014 4:09 am

Long story short: I need a new hobby.
Carving runestones or, "runestoning" as me and my friends have come to call it, is right up my alley.
Only problem is, the only tutorial I have found online is in Swedish. While I can translate the webpage via google translate, there are four videos that teach the technique in holding the carving tool, and I have no way of translating them.
So that's where hopefully the forum comes in. If one of you guys can either give a manuscript of the video written out in Swedish, or better yet, give an english manuscript, it would be greatly appreciated. You'll also be my new favorite person

The videos can be found here

I actually took a look at this one, but I didn't follow it because he says to carve them in limestone which is much softer than what I'm using, but it won't last nearly as long. Plus, he barely skims over the technique aspect of it.

GOOGLE CHROME HAS A TRANSLATE FUNCTION BUILT IN
I DON'T KNOW IF IT TRANSLATES SWEDISH THAT WELL BUT IT WORKS FOR JAPANESE
FIND A JAPANESE CALLIGRAPHY FORUM AND TAKE THAT UP INSTEAD. MEGA CRED FOR A GAIJIN MOFO REBUTTING JAPANESE CLAN HEADS ON FOREIGN FORUMS USING CHROME AND KICKING THEIR ASS AT CALLIGRAPHY.

Checked out the videos and you dont really need to translate, as he shows what he says with his hands.

https://translate.google.com.au/translate?hl=en&sl=sv&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.runristare.se%2Frunstensskolan%2Fhuggteknik.html

This might help. Just go to this sight and paste the link to the website in that field and it will automatically translate the whole sight for you.
