Shooting at Parliament Hill in Ottawa

Postby jordancoles » Wed Oct 22, 2014 7:36 pm

Around 10am this morning a soldier was shot and killed outside of parliament in Ottawa, the gunman then ran inside and was shot and killed
There's a press conference live right now but there are basically no answers right now

Here is the article/stream

People are thinking that this could be related to ISIS the terrorist group

There was another shooting recently on a government official so they are thinking that these shootings were planned and directed

Sort of scary in downtown Ottawa at the moment

They're asking off-duty soldiers/officers to take off their uniforms
I wouldn't blame anyone for not wanting to put a potential target on their backs at the moment but some officers are refusing because they think it's giving into terrorism

But Canada has such strict gun laws, how could a criminal possibly obtain a gun to shoot someone with?

Rifles are allowed for hunting but it's sort of a bitch to get licencing/training for even that. You likely would never see a handgun in Canada that wasn't on the belt of a police officer.

nobody checked me for guns when i walked into canadian land from washington state for sightseeing. shouldnt it be easy enough to bring illegal ones from the states if someone really want to? maybe not in ottawa, but thought canada had some mafia families living too.

It's actually really easy, I have my unrestricted and the restricted licence isn't much more difficult to get.

Anyways, tragic day.

It's often easy to smuggle things in and out of countries if you know what you're doing. This is why we have a robust slave trade in the US along the Oregon coastline, you just have to know better than to try to do it in California where the coast guard actually cares. I imagine it's the same with Canada and guns, you just have to know which checkpoints are lax.

Very tragic and I hope no further shootings happen.

1 soldier's death vs a bunch of children during the bi-yearly school shootings in the US. Huhuhu.

Seriously though, considering ISIS's recent threats it could be them. There are people all over the Western world joining them.
Boofing and gumping it all damn day. Shoutout to my homeboy Moloch
