HnH politics.

Postby vienradzis » Wed Oct 29, 2014 9:27 am

Hello,

I recently decided to check out HnH. Made hearthling and started my jurney here. But i have problems understanding politics of HnH.
Which are strongest factions at this moment? How are PvP activity on server? Which are most hated faction? Which is most feared faction?

So please waste your time and tell me your vision about subject.

Best regards.

That's one of the most interesting questions one can ask about this game, and it's one you won't get a proper answer for. Maybe a player will come here and tell you what is going on, who's winning, and who's feared, but it will be a biased opinion based on their faction preferences, trolling intents, or plain ignorance, since they know just a small part of what's happening behind the screens, so you should be skeptic.

In a more generic answer, from where I stand what I can say with certainty is that factions are losing members and reducing activity, and this power gap has allowed raider wannabees to do what they want everywhere, terrorizing noobs and pretending to be pros. There was a time when you couldn't walk an alt by village's A or B river systems without being killed. Now petty raiders fuck things up just a few grids of them and nothing happens.

I feel there's an interesting story behind that.

strongest factions would be "steel fist" aka Dis, and A.D., megam8s used 2 be here too but they quit playing, got raided and shit like that.
PvP activity is much lower than at the start of world but interestingly its not that low now.
hated and feared is subjective, most non-faction members dislike the idea of factions and those who dont usually play favourites.

wow, if you would try to make a tribe or smth here in haven, you will all just die in the first fight.
Just look "In Congress Assembled" for haven politics

There are barely any politics left these days, a lot of major players and even whole factions are inactive and waiting for global update. As venator said, the following information can be incorrect due to number of reasons, but here is my version:
Only two major factions are active now, Dis (or whatever they are called now, they rebrand pretty often) and AD. Both factions have common roots and pretty same gamestyle. I wanted to say, that average IQ of AD members is a bit lower, but then I thought this is just an illusion created by brightest minds of Dis being inactive on forums.
If you're looking for joining one of them or creating an alliance, my advise is not to. Both factions can not be trusted, but they would fuck you over in different ways: AD leader has good intentions, but simply can't control his kids, besides he is pathological liar and you should know that ADs recruitment is deeply flawed, Dis as a faction has no good intentions, they are desperate to win the game in any way. If you're looking to do business with any of them, avoid getting into alliance with the whole faction and just keep it on personal level, there are nice and trustworthy people on both sides, you would be amazed what a dicks most of them are, when they are together and how face to face conversation can change that. War between factions is pretty primitive these days, they are just running around trying to get more kills and then shittalk for days (check out ICA). I guess there is not much left to say, because it seems HnH is not active enough for politics to be more deep and meaningful.

*post is written without taking your salem history and possible intentions into account
**if I would take all that into account, I'd tell you that Dis is more into tribal rhetorics, but iirc it's members dislike tribe

Not really, he asked for refund, got it and accounts were banned to prevent cheating (having both money and profits from shop items). Though you might find the whole story behind wanting a refund in the first place interesting, but it's not, if you ask me.

M8s r best (by a fucking longshot) but gone, AD r second best, Dis r shit and Koreans r somewhere in da middle. As far as actual politics, there is no diplomacy, just random skirmishes.
Of another era.

Why M8s are gone?
