Haven and Hearth: Two sentences at a time (story)

Postby Cygnus » Sun Dec 14, 2014 5:19 am

So basically, this is a post where you start a new character in haven and you have to get it up to at 100 base attributes or 100 skill. To do this for example you could say you found a floating flotsam (though it has to go via the wiki)

I'll start.

I created a new character in Haven and spawned in a forest. The first thing I did was gather branches and stone, then I crafted a stone axe after I accumulated enough LP for Lumberjacking.

I got the LP for one and put the rest in a basket to find they all disappeared. Luckily I was able to get the most basic skills up a bit, I got my Marksmanship and Survival up to 30 and UA 20.

Golden Eggs have a really high mental weight, so you wouldn't be able to gain any LP from the golden eggs directly at this stage. You could theoretically trade some of them for whole cupboards filled with food that grants INT FEPs, and then use the rest, one at a time, but you'd probably get robbed blind. Even a basket of pearls wouldn't work, since they have a mental weight higher than 10, too. Anyway, even if it wasn't impossible, it's totally Deus Ex Machina.

I don't think you explained the idea very well, Cygnus. Figuring out what you intended by starting this thread was like resolving an anagram. For the sake of everyone else (as if anyone cares), this is meant to be a round-robin, collaborative storytelling "forum game" where each player takes a turn adding to the story, two sentences at a time. (Okay, maybe it isn't round-robin. I give up.) Let's see here...

I hoisted my stone axe into the air, and my fingers ran across its flint-knapped edge as I watched with the eyes of a madman. The later events of that day blurred together as I strode mightily through a storm of falling needles and splinters, and I heaved y axe left and right through the tall, green conifers, until the trees were no more, and 'neath the dome of my high hat, I stood tallest of all.

Ignore the golden egg thing then.

I offered all my gold bars to charity work. I got scammed by the polish charity scrub and now all my gold bars are gone, ramones ended up with the golden eggs and I don't have anything.
