Exchange rate

Postby Jevon » Mon Nov 30, 2009 12:08 pm

Cast coins, what other coins would I get. Something like 100 cast for X copper, just so I have something to base exchange on.

Could set up an exchange table too, one enough data is collected :D

depends who you ask, what time of day you ask them, what mood their in, how much milk they've got, which fish they ate last tuesday.

And it changes all the time

I for one would love to see a proper exchange rate...
you know like...

Linen 19CC
Bread 4CC

For example. And every week it would shift depending on supply and demand. Like if no one was making Linen for sale the price of Linen would go up 3 coins or more, while if the marketplace was swamped by bread its price would go down a coin or two...

Lot of work to get it perfect but perhaps if a Single location of a Marketplace was set up (NOT Brodgar or anywhere else) or maybe a combination of areas like at the four corners of the Main Grid...

Why not just make a village called 'Marketplace' and link it to a few well-known places.

True this would be a great risk from thieves and the like, but it could have a personal guard system of people, volunteers or whatnot to deal with such criminals. Of course they would be payed :D.

Edit: This is off-topic, anyone got any personal rates for coin exchange?

If you bothered to take a look at the RoB marketplace you'd see that there's a coin exchange vendor that sells copper coins for coins of all metals but silver and gold.

I did, but at the time of posting, I forgot how many. I'm just saying an overall rate table would be easier, with community input for batering as someone said that they would like above.

He's asking about the price ratio of cast iron to any other bar/coin/nugget. Since there is no more lossy metal the ratio is the same for all three kinds.
