To the people of the hearthlands

Postby DrinkingVikingIV » Sat Jan 03, 2015 3:58 am

Hi, i just started playing (again) after a while, and i wanted to know a couple of things.

there are active villages with lots of people ? or many small villages and hermits ?
how many people play this ?
will rusians and polacks kill me and steal my pants for using a fox hat or is that a thing of the past ?

if this is not the place for this please tell me where :)

in b4 "you're playing a dead game, friend". typical online activity recently is 150-200 accounts (characters, not players) online.
probably some large and small villages, as well as hermitages, active, but most settlements you'll see will be inactive.
there are still going to be the typical asshats who will kill you just for the lolz, but at this stage in the game you'll probably see lots of bored poopsockers looking for new companionship/trade relations/little people to recruit and boss around.
all in all, kind of a crappy time to get back into the game but as i'm sure you're aware there is a big, big update on the horizon

"Horizon"
I hope Hafen comes on soon as possible but tbh, knowing jorbtar, it'll be a few more months at the very least
Polaks only kill you if you trade with them
Russians only kill you if its obvious you're using Google translate :?
Everything else Bitza said is 100% accurate, especially the part about people at end game grabbing up noobs as slaves :)

i thought so, i was sailing around all day, and while i may have covered just a little of the map, it was just ghost towns every where in various states of decay.
what a shame.

i started playing back in 2011 world 4 i think can't remember if i played world 3, the first time i quit because i didn't have anyone to play with, the second time i left because the guys i played with left to play minecraft (actually i went first and they follow) then i started again and left because i didn't have the time. last time i quit because russians killed me and took my pants, and i didn't feel like starting over.

i believe people leave because is just too time consuming.

another question why do i have to wait 3 days to build houses ? is so there isn't millions of abandoned houses everywhere ?

Many reasons really. Lack of time to invest, wanting to win in a game that does not stroke your ego with accolades, rage quitting over errors and being raided, not willing to wait for the next update....

Yes, but one would think that the people who start to play this game are just well aware of the purpose or goal of this game... making your own story. I stopped playing once because me and my friend got raided and sealed inside our fort, but that's the thrill of this game, knowing that you're not alone. Also I don't really see what difference Hafen is going to make.
