Been playing the game for a day or so..

Postby asaphunter » Sat Mar 21, 2015 6:04 pm

Had some problems with the game starting up on my Mac but finally got it to work, and me and my girlfriend have been piddling around on it for a day or so. My first time playing this game ever and it's amazing. The pace is very slow and I don't understand much about it (mostly combat and stats) but I am learning and would just like to say how much we are both enjoying it. I don't plan on running around and murdering people but making friends and helping each other out. Thanks for a great game and look forward to meeting some of you down the road!

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Just for precaution, it is imperative that you have your home protected as soon as possible.
  1. Claim your land with a stake claim up.
  2. Get a brick wall perimeter established. Keep the key that the gate spawns on the builder on an alt and never on the character that in traveling.
  3. Get your village claim inside of your home up.
  4. Have crossroad that allows you to teleport from the inside of your home to the outside (not vice versa, remember that you can destroy the route without penalty if you make mistake). That way you never need your key alt to venture out

Contact SynthAura, he's currently offering tutoring for new people and soon might even have some basic items to make your early game easier: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=38551
