Haven Streaming? - Ironman

Postby jordancoles » Sun Jun 14, 2015 4:25 am

So I was thinking of livestreaming haven soon before the Haven 2 release date

I'm still considering the best way to go about it, and I'm still not sure if I should do a "one week challenge" at the start of a week, or if I should just stream from Aug 1st to the 21st.

I plan on streaming 1-2 hours per day during my play-stretch that I decide on.

Idea would be that I spawn a new character, give him a bucket and a waterskin (just to save some time walk speeding on stream) and start him out solo.

Might be fun to give the base I create and the account away at the end as well to some legitimate scrub if they still exist :)

Any suggestions for it?
What would be a good time for me to work in my 2h block of streaming so that people from most countries can watch.?
My timezone is EST.

Would anyone be interested in watching?

I've had people nail my location based on a minimap before, so you'd have to approach this cautiously.

It sounds interesting but the commitment wouldn't be there for some dedicated 30+ viewer watching or something.
Maybe a thread and a week of streaming might get some more attention and be better all around?

Yeah I'd be covering my minimap so people would at least have to work for it

Followed your channel.
I will keep an eye on any HnH streams for sure. I also want to see how easily I can triangulate your position in the world.

I'd rather watch the sign in Times Square to see if a /b/tard ever shows up to knock it over but that's just me.....

I think I will be streaming from 4-6pm EST and I will be doing it for 1 week

I might just do weekdays, but if I'm still enjoying myself after the 5th day I will do 7

Just out of curiosity, why is it so important to cover the minimap when people can clearly see the terrain from the actual game view? Do they use some kind of automated image matching program or something to find the location from saved maps that therefore only works with minimap images, or something?

Its a lot easier to find a place with a picture of the exact minimap, rather than just what the actual landscape is showing, a tree could be a tree and a river could be a river. The landscape doesn't really show full what the area looks like
