Returning Player

Postby GrandMageVivi » Sun Aug 02, 2015 3:35 am

Howdy all. I played HnH a few years ago, I stopped a bit after Seatribe announced they were working on Salem due to personal reasons. After recently getting into other survival games such as Rust and ARK, I found myself missing Haven. I was looking to get back into it, and was wondering how much the game has changed, if at all, since then. I doubt there's anyone still on who remembers me, since I didn't talk much, but my username back then was something along the lines of LuxLucidiz.

Well, I see that the community seems to have died down quite a bit. It also seems that the current world has been going on for quite a while, and that a whole new version is about to come out, so another question I should ask would be: is it even reasonable to start a new character right now? Even to just learn the basics before the new version is released.

First post shows that you'd prefer taking 5 minutes of your time to ask others to invest time to answer you than read it all by youself.
But second post show an effort, so my answer :
"Is it reasonable to play a game you enjoy ?"
I dont think so, games are just like drugs, they just steal your life for nothing in return, and those who makes them deserve to be treat like adictive drug dealers are.

This game has not changed in 4 years.

Bug abuse still=the gameplay. Instead of Russians we have polskas now. Everything is fail.
The zombified sheep of this game have no hope to cling to except for Hafen, which will be as successful, enjoyable and engaging as Salem.

Lorb and Jorb didn't listen to their playerbase in that, Haven is the only way to go. 4 years ago. 5 at this point.
It sux lol.

I was hoping to get some direct feedback via conversation from people who have actually been playing the game, but thanks anyway.

Massa and Sheep, thanks for an answer, I'm honestly leaning much more towards Salem right now. The only thing holding me back is that the game looks even uglier than Haven, imo.

(Also, sorry for the double post, it's been a while since I've used a forum and I forget editing was a thing.)

Haven at least has a soul.

An alternative to Salem I might reccomend is breaking bricks with your own torn off toes via headbutting them, or eating paint chips. The yellow ones are the tastiest.
You'll lose the same amount of brain cells either way.

Nah, already tried that. Ended up in the hospital one too many times.

Oh well, guess I'll just wait for the update like everyone else and see what happens.

Well, Salem is a "crafting MMO", H&H is more about survival and exploration IMO.
In the state of the game, H&H is more interesting than ever with all those abandoned villages to explore and loot.
