Wind.

Postby Seizure » Thu Dec 10, 2009 7:18 pm

I was rather bored today, so I thought I would grab some wind and have some fun. I have also been wondering about the specifics with wind, and had an alt I wanted to off.

So, I walked around and found an abandoned claim near hearth. Built a wind chime, moved the runestone, caught some wind, made a bunch of wicker baskets.

The Stage was set.

I put the wind in, and set an alt to stand waiting for the fun.

I had always thought people were joking at the destruction it caused. Wind destroyed all the wicker baskets, clay pots, the dreamcatcher I forgot to move, and a nearly undamaged runestone. A RUNESTONE! Those are a pita to get rid of. Also left my alt with 13 of 31 HHP left, 49 total damage.

H&H. I have found the solution. It must be done. The filth and decay of the hearthlands will be blown away in a divine wind. Ready yourselves...

It really is a pain to actually catch wind. Only way to catch it is to get lucky and be somewhere in the center of its path. Right click like there is no tomorrow, and sprint your little legs off. The blade looks cool, but really is a pain to get good Q wind.

It's actually pretty simple to catch wind. Minimize your UI, pay attention to which way the wind is blowing, and scroll your screen as far as you can in the direction it's coming from. As soon as you see one, click on it's path to move there (ahead of it, obviously) and then start spam clicking the wind. Make sure you're sprinting. Ta da, wind.

im assuming their not as good as soldiers swords?
windchimes break and release the wind (haha) when the wind reaches the same q as the windchime. right?

I'm not sure about the usefulness of the blades, it was discussed in the announcement thread and somebody came to some sort of conclusion. As for the wind chime quality effecting anything I'm sure it does. All I know is that over time wind damages the wind chime and if the chime breaks, so does the wind. So it requires constant repair. More wind in the chime damages it faster (but raises all of the wind quality too).

they are the worst kind of swords, but look nice and are quite easy to get, making them perfect weapons for noobs without mines or stuff to trade.

Those wicker baskets remind me of the out-of-commission warships you see on footage of old atoll testings of nuclear bombs.
