New to the game

Postby zdazzle » Sat Jun 13, 2009 7:24 pm

I was just wondering, how many people play? I really enjoy the game, but as of yet I havent seen a single person, I've seen claims and houses all around, but never have I seen a person. And could someone also tell me where a major population of players live? I'd like to locate myself in that direction.

Welcome to the game. As your looking to settle with other people its important to know that there are a number of different settlements in the game currently. I'll list you a few that have advertised for new members on this forum.

Clayshire
a nice charitable bunch who like to train new people
topic

ShadyAcre
another nice bunch who are having a few problems currently but everything should be fine by tomorrow
topic

The LeperBunny Commune
don't know much about them
topic

Laketown
quite a large and friendly group on all accounts
topic

Bottleneck
started by us bay12ers but willing to accept almost anyone, I don't think we started a topic but there is a map
map

I suggest you look through their topics as most contain much more information and also maps.

There are a number of other settlements but I don't know if they are accepting new members, groups like Camp Noctis for example so I'll let them speak up if they are.

Great post Vattic! Yeah, there are a lot of villages and towns already even though the game is still in Alpha, and there are plenty of people living in this world :) Most of them have moved out of the Stone Circle however because it got sorta crowded. As Vattic said, Clayshire is always willing to train and help new players learn the ropes. It may seem a bit confusing at first but I assure you, it gets better and better. Plus Jorb (a developer with a terrifying beard) mentioned they were adding new content in a few days. They're always releasing awesome patches for this game!

Nice post indeed!
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

Vattic, thank you for the post, it was a lot of help. I think i'm gonna head to Clayshire to get myself started and hopefully learn all I can.

Thanks again

Clayshire also does donations to new players. They'd give you some food to start out with.

Camp Noctis doesn't really exist anymore. We packed up and moved elsewhere after the civilization change. I left a bunch of stuff behind (including a house) that I don't want, so whoever wants it can move in.
