Want to find out where you are?

If you spawned in the wilderness and want to find out where you are you can kin with my character Yggdrasil who will be at Brodgar intermittantly. His hearth secret is "Location".

When you are kinned with him you can party with him and then there will be a directional arrow somewhere on your screen. This arrow will point towards Brodgar. (assuming the system works like it is supposed to). You will have to pm me to make sure I log on at a time convenient to us both so you can do this.

I guess we are going to be using the Hawaiian system of directions! They only had two: towards the center of the island and away from the center of the island.

So it gives direction, but not distance. Also, I've not had a good experience with that arrow. It points in the completely wrong direction, from my experience, IF the party member is far enough away.

yes, it's far from perfect but it gives you a kind of rough and ready guess.

Sort of like if you knew the constellations -kinda, and you knew that in summer Brodgar was directly under the Leopard at sundown.... and you could locate that constellation and it was summer where you are and you were 90% certain you had identified the constellation correctly. You'd be semi-certain Brodgar was that-a-way which might well be better than nothing. Your other option being trying random directions.

If anyone else is interested in this project I am game to try to set up some triangulation.

Yeah, the arrows are probably not the best way to determine your location.

the arrows are bugged, yeah, but Kheyre have right. The follow portrait isn't broken. But ther's need all this coordination? I can just ask a friend to log his chara and travel to brodgar, is the same o.o ther's no need to have a chara on rob all the time
