Welcome to HnH!

you will have to get along for yourself in the beginning. if you wander around a bit, chances are you find a village or a small settlement eventually. if you are very lucky, someone is even online

for a lot of answered questions search the forum, especially under "how do i?" search first before asking a question, its most likely already answered.

If you're feeling suicidal but curious, you could try to attack a fox or something to see if there are nearby villages or hearths, the higher level, the further away you are from civilization. You might kill yourself while doing that but hey, it's all fun
