"the lake is called" -?- how do you find out the name of a lake or a river?

In this case there are runestones placed at the mouths of the rivers. I seem to recall they said things like "Captain Haught's Creek: Connects to Puddleglum's Marsh and the Long Water"

yah, i thought it was pretty cool, although its moot now, becasue that character is deaded than a doorknob becuase of a bear. but oh well, if i ever find that place again, i will so happy! and i might start to name rivers i come across, who knows? (my future plans is for a river empire, anyway, so haha, could be useful!)
