Conditions of ShadyAcres

Postby Raephire » Wed Jun 17, 2009 5:20 am

While it is very unfortunate that a thief entirely made a very well designed city into a ghost town aside from the complete obliteration of the mine and crucibles I must say that I have kept the town maintained to a degree. While much of the resources were taken by looters much still remains, The surrounding area continues to develop and the highway between shadyacres and clayshire is nearly finished.

The reforestation clinic has been complete for some time, though since it is being unused I will be relocating it to the west of clayshire.

Why isn't this reforestation clinic in the, uh... forest? Out of curiosity.

Reforestation clinics need to be near a well at the very least. Shady Acres is also right next to a forest

I don't see any trees planted in the forest. Regardless of where you do the work, you should plant them in the forest, at least if they're fir trees.

...I would go up and check the actual clinic thing, but I now can no longer load the map there. =( Stupid router...

I daresay the best place for a reforestation clinic is a desert with a well, near a forest. Infinite clay without tearing up the ground is worth quite a bit to me. Just build a road to the forest you want to fix up, and if you really want, you could even put a cart down and put your treeplanter's pots in containers and drive them to the forest and back.

I do that, except I'm by the forest and I made a road to the clay pit. Said road went STRAIGHT through the forest, killing five trees and a boulder. =D

Not having a handy desert, my tree nursery is beside a well and a flax field. It is time consuming but I re-grass the same spot over and over and keep digging the clay in the same spot. I by product torches.

And of course you also need one apple tree and one fir tree to get the cones and cores

Hopefully eventually much of the scarring done in settlement can be repaired
