What is with the obsession of making TONS of fires/chairs..?

Postby ViciousGamer04 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:05 pm

I don't know how many I counted at least.. I dunno, 100+ random 1/5th of the way done fires and like. 20+ or so chairs in middle of nowhere. I saw about five boats or so but that's understandable.. all that other junk, really isn't XD.

Are these all from people who couldn't actually figure out how to play the game, or what? :)

On the contrary, those are people who figured out how to grind effective very quick. This is a fast way to gather lp, although when I first started it was more useful to grind looms than fires or chairs. Dunno if that changed somehow.

If fires are 1/0/5, they must be animal traps. People use those to pen in their quarry so it can't escape.

Your opinion, many games have universal grind to then distribute the point pool to the areas they see fit...I like it that way. SO although not the way you like it, there's nothing "broken" about it. Using the same system can also make the best potters and carpenter in the world. SO it was/is not the system itself, it was the benefits/encouragement of 12 year old punk griefing and murdering that made some USE the system that way. IMO of course which is different from yours obviously. Which is OOOHHHTAYYY buckwheat!

I don't really consider that the "most effective" way to grind(maybe when you just start the game and even then.., XD.). Especially if you get the LP bonuses.

Well that would explain the animal traps.. not the random chairs though lol

Then you are wrong, repetitive grinding looms or in this case chairs is the most effective thing to do if you want to get started. Later it is of course hunting.

Hunting? Really? Do you take into account all the walking you do to find an animal to hunt? All that time equals you could be using a skill that you could do while being immobile and getting LP for doing it. I never really hunted big game yet(too new in the game.) Does it give THAT much LP? Do you also take into account the long amount of time it might take to kill "said" animal(assuming you're an average player and not some ultra strong person that one-hits everything. XD.)

Hunting with a decent char gives you about 200k lp an hour, hunting on a big ass grassland with a strong char can easily gain you 300k lp an hour...there is nothing even remotely close to those amounts of lp.
