Bears, in my base?

During the last game-day transition a level 10 bear has decided to spawn about 30 steps north of my village and is camping all 4 of us... is this normal? :O

Bears will spawn anywhere where there is no Civ Aura, the Hearthfires do give a little aura but its not strong enough nor big enough to keep you safe completely, animals will not spawn in Claimed zones though...

Just carpentry, masonry isn't needed unless you're looking into brick walls.
