To the german players...

Postby Jfloyd » Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:35 pm

I'm leaving for Germany tomorrow and was wondering if there was anything specific I should visit in Munchen.
We'll also be staying in Waldhut-Tiengen with a family.
The other city we're visiting is Rothenburg, and a few smaller tourist villages along the way.

So if any germans want to give some insight on what would be fun to do (trip is school sponsored so no sex, drugs, or getting drunk)
Also, turning 16 while I'm there.
Trip is 15 days long.

I'm not German but I just wanted to say, "Hey, Happy Birthday!"

Remember building that first monument in your town south of Clayshire out of flax and paving and runestones? I think you were cooking your first batch of steel at that time...

Have a great trip in Germany!

Can I be a troll and say:

Do a Nazi salute, and shout SEIG HEIL! At the top of your voice?

If not, have fun on your trip :)

*Sieg Heil

Second vowel is pronounced in german words not the first. :P

Even as a joke, don't. The Germans do not find it humorous. I recall a story of a British professor being arrested for doing something similar in a German airport.

I had no intention of doing so, I'm not all there sometimes but I'm not THAT stupid.

In case you have some days to spare (since you surely will take a week or two to see everything there): a visit to the Deutsches Museum is always worthwhile...

On fridays/saturdays a visit to the Museum Lichtspiele to get a late viewing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show is also fun.

It's actually illegal here to use Swastikas or Nazi salutes. Nazi paraphernalia isn't allowed on flea markets or Ebay, and the original version of Wolfenstein 3D is banned.

You're also not allowed to insult police officers, including flipping them the bird, which would net you a fine.

Never been to München/Munich so I can't recommend anything, besides visit some public transportation to hitch a ride to Berlin. Fortunately for you, legal drinking age for beer and wine in Germany is 16, so you could taste-test some fine German beer. Unfortunately for you, well, the "school-sponsored" part.

same to me. im way more from the south.
but i think i can give you an advise anyway:
taste the german/bavarian cuisine! (that means: dont eat at burgerking, mcdonalds + subway all the time and try some culture ;))
depends on how free you can move in the cities...

by the way: where are you from and what are your plans? what do you want to visit/ what are you interested in?
