Where's the IRC?

I've read many posts talking about things happening in the IRC channel(s), yet no mention of what server(s) the channel(s) are on. Anyone care to share? I'm always on IRC, just not always at my computer, and it'd be nice to be able to talk to people without having to scour for them ingame.

I would hand out the URL for the Bay12 H&H channel, but I think I'll wait for someone else to do that.

Usually when there's an IRC channel, it isn't on the hush-hush side of things. Sure, people might find it all by themselves, but I think we should have it posted SOMEWHERE on the main site. Really now, when has it ever been bad to have it posted? It's definitely easier to speak with people across the game when you can talk to them instantly instead of having to go through the steps of finding them in-game and pulling up a chat (assuming they aren't already kin.)

Anyways, the big reason I want to know the IRC is because I don't just wanna sit there in-game all the time to only talk to my party. Also I don't like forums that much in general, had some bad experiences when I was younger. But I have to get my ideas out somehow! =D!

I think only a few towns have there own irc channels.. theres no "everyone haven" channel or anything... You could make one and post it though.. maybe people will join?

The one Trafalgar talked about is actually an IRC channel for something completely different, which gets some people a little annoyed when we spend 3 hours talking about mining and FOxes.

The individual community chats should probably be kept relatively close to the chest, yes. I'm a little disturbed at the thought of just anyone waltzing in and seeing us talking about sensitive information (or about how a boar just tore my pants off - embarrassing!). Whether that's paranoid or sensible (especially since there's not a whole lot of sensitive information at the moment) is up for debate.

That said, I would whole-heartedly approve of a Haven & Heart general IRC channel. The one we have set up for the 'DF guys', as it were, is often deader than a doornail when I'm around.

I think it's also better to keep channels community sized, not world sized.
It's also to respect the devs wishes on what direction the game should go i believe.

So to put it simply, everyone is just paranoid due to all the theft that's been going around in-game? Shame. =/

I propose the irc channel is on Irc.synirc.org with the channelname being #havenchat. Unless anyone has any other ideas it could be temporary or something.
