Thief's diary

Postby JustasJ » Sat Mar 27, 2010 11:11 am

A few days ago, bored by searching for a mine, I decided to be a thief in this game. Seriously, I taught my main character Tresspassing and then Theft while I am on full Change. Since I regard sandbox games like this one as a good place for social experimentation, I have decided to test for how long can you survive, living as a thief in this game. I will post my adventures on this topic for everyone to see, so you would not assume I am a regular thief who is a griefer and nothing more. So, my adventures of thieving begin:

Day one: I stole 7 clovers and one gauze from my neighbour but left him a runestone asking him to contact me if he wants his stuff back. Afterall, he doesn't seem like playing anymore. I saw his palisade a week before and it hasn't changed at all when I saw it yesterday.

Day two: Stole two chests with raw meat from a claim next to some village. Since they were not online at the time and held their brick gates locked up while their stuff was pretty much out in the open I assumed they will not mind taking two of their chests with me. The stuff they contained was quite enough for me to eat for two or three days. Of course I left some chantrelles and pumpkin flesh for them as a trade.

Wait for updates of my work :)

If the people who lost things could map it out, it would be pretty cool to see how far you go in your wicked ways :P

Not too wicked since I am into returning their stuff if they ask it from me in a pleasant manner.

Btw, I destroyed some lame newb's lean-to and the guy sleeping there dissapeared :D
Also, I browsed through like 50 cupboards in some guy's camp to see nothing in them. Put a live rabbit there as a souvenir for him.

well, last map, I was alive for 4 months without death.
While going on many killing sprees and stealing anything I wanted.
But, I was also in WV. With that, I had access to q220 thanes and a q500 anvil and a q204 smithy hammer I could smith q180 steel plates, helmets and swords with.

Also, what if you play a smart thief who is actually a thief, instead of a forced-trade-thief person. Thieves don't leave peace offerings after they steal things.

Didn't really happen. I can still access my character.
