What happened to my Bear Cape?

Postby iezerith » Sun Mar 28, 2010 12:17 pm

I was so happy, I finally got a Bear Cape. I ran around and showed it to everyone in the village and I got so much respect because I finally killed my own bear.
But hey-ooh, all of sudden, I realise my cape is gone. Just gone!

I looked at all the spots I had been fighting recently, and no sighting of it. Last time I saw it was when I entered my boat!
My theory is that some Boar I ran away from (because I was dying) possibly dragged it off. I have no idea!

Anyone know what could've happened? ;-;

I might be stating the obvious and you have likely already considered it, but: Some clothing and all armor have hitpoints, every time you take a hit the HP drops until that item is destroyed. Did you bear cape not maybe run out of HP in altercations with the wildlife?

Your cape was destroyed by the joyous new grief boars. Amors, leather clothing (pants, armor, shoes), clogs, bear capes..ect,ect all are damaged everytime you are attacked until they are finally destroyed. So, since you say you have been engaged in battles since wearing the cape, and since I doubt it had very many hits points to begin with (lots of work for very little HP) that's unfortunatly where it went.

Better to just put stuff like that on for show, use it when you need extra strength to destroy something or what-not. WEaring your "good" stuff and getting attacked with it on = gone stuff. If you get attacked, quickly open you inventory and equiptment tab and take everything destroyable off.

Not at all. Each armor have two parameters divided by slash. First parameter shows amount of damage it reflects without any harm. Second shows amount it absorb in armor hitpoints. If you have enough reflection your armor will not be destroyed.

'"Not at all"? Are you saying clothing is not destoryed in battle? "enough Reflection"? Rasied by what? I've had more clothes ripped off and destroyed than virgins during the crusades. His cape was destroyed by the battles he was in, especially the last one he mentioned.

Just out of curiosity, but are the reflect/soak values of all armour pieces that you wear added together for a total value before calculating damage or do they work on an individual basis somehow? I kinda assume that there is no hit location system in the game and thus the system is based on summing it all up first, but I could be wrong.

Not that I've seen, I have many times watched the destruction as I was ripped. I watch one piece at a time drop in HP until it is gone, then it moves on to the next piece. So I do not believe they are added together, however they may be taken in a specific order (slot) or by some other directive as to which piece takes the hits until it's gone and then it moves to next valuable slot or piece. Eiher way, you stuff is destroyed eventually.

No, they're added together. I've pieced together a suit that can't be damaged by mouflons.
