Leech marsh vs. non leech marsh

Postby Pansy » Wed Mar 31, 2010 3:01 am

I just found a marsh which was blue-green on the minimap. It wasn't quite the same as usual. When I investigated there were no logs, algae clumps or other features and I didn't pick up any leeches.

My guess is that the type of marsh which used to appear white on the minimap is now showing blue-green. It's not quite the same as the leech marshes. This one has some grey marbling streaks in it on the minimap, similar to those found on the purple marsh and some yellow-green marbling.

I don't know if this is a one off, a change to all previously white marshes, a third type, or only found on the newly generated grids.

Which marshes actually contain leeches? How do they look like on the minimap?, because Ive been standing for minutes and couldn't catch one.

They look almost identical now.

Are their logs, toads and clumps of green stuff in the marsh you found?

If not, the marsh is no good and has no leeches. The useless kind of marsh has the same ground as the good kind but none of the details on it. It would be kind of like finding a forest without any ferns. The logs and stuff are pretty nearly as common as ferns in the good kind of marsh.

the marsh with leeches has logs in it, odd red plants and other nasty looking green stuff in it, if it doesnt then it has no leeches, there is no doubt either when you see the logs or red plant you will know youve got the right march

Also if you are still in doubt just stand in the marsh, you will get leeches in seconds if it is the right marsh

Stand in the wrong one though, and you will be eaten by crocodiles.
Better be confident, or bring Steve Irwin.

Seen over a dozen swamps and not one had anything in it.

Are they near rivers?

Not sure where they hiding but so far none in the areas I have seen so far.
