You could use querns and winepresses for rooks or something... and maybe Churns for the other bishops... going to be hard to color code stuff though

yeah, i was thinking tho, that it might be possible to use yourself as queen, or king

or if you are like 4-5 guys, each of you make a party and you can discuss what to do : )

Bishops. As for the other types... hrm. Maybe tanning bins for the knights, spinning wheel for the rooks (castles), beehives and querns for the other sides rooks and knights, dream catchers for the black bishops.

As for the king and queen, maybe having two runestones for each with Black Queen, White Queen, Black King and White King carved on each of them.

I was just thinking of checkers. It would be faster and easier, and we'd only use two kinds of pieces. I like the idea of Chess too, but I imagine it will be tough for both players (or more) to find a solid forty-five minute block.

Ok

Tanning bin - White king

Meat Grinder - White Knight
Quern - White Rook

Cauldron - Black King
Runestone - Black Queen
Dreamcatcher - Black Bishop
Spinning Wheel - Black Knight
Wine press - Black Rook

how does that sound?

I can't play chess. But i know checkers.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
