Got bored and had some free time so I decided to mess around in MS paint. Drew this using the stone mansion as a reference to size. One being gilded in gold and the other regular. This is my first attempt at Bavarian styled buildings.

I used MS paint because I'm stuck on my slow laptop. It can barely keep up with haven and hearth, much less run anything more intensive like Photoshop, Gimp, or Sumopaint.

paint.net is pretty good, way better than ms paint, it doesn't seem too resource intensive.

We really need another game in town. I've actually had a lot of good things to say about Paint.net - it's on my short-list of mandatory installs on a new PC, amongst other things because it's got a mac-like level of 'ease of use'. Good thing to see a clone of it coming to linux, too, because this is exactly the kind of program linux needs.

Edit: Well, crap, looks like it's also for macs, too! Nice!

the screenshots make it seem very similar to MSPaint

Nice work. The tip of the roof is a bit off, though, and the colours are too clean.

Yea the roof tip is a bit odd, I got stumped and was lazy. But what do you mean the colors are too clean? I didn't add any shading, I know, but the building isn't supposed to look gritty. Maybe it looks too uniform?

Another piece of work, this time a dock. Borrowed from part of the palisade corner post sprite, in addition to a hearthling and a boat for reference. This was done a little hastily so some things are out of proportion or misplaced; the level of detail on the palisade posts don't mesh well with the flat colors I used and the upper right post looks awkward.
