Donate for a better server?

There is always alot of talk about "if you want to stop the lag just done" But there has been no offical word from jorb/loftar.

If we donate, WILL you get a new server? Or is there something preventing you from doing this? How much would you need in order to get a decent server that will allow us to play without lag, because this is pretty ridicilous.

Im sure there are plenty of people out there apart from me that would be willing to donate just to get rid of this soulbreaking lag.

Some other means of getting the € to them (apart from the current unreliable service) would be prefered though, don't want to wait 180 days for the money to be available (if at all) on the receiving side.

Seeing as the game's still in alpha, it's unlikely that all the lags are because of the server.

Considering the game is run on their personal computers id say its fairly certain that most of the lag comes from that.

honestly, the lag is a good exercise to discover how make a fast and light server and client. I dunno if they will buy a real servero someday, when the game will be a Beta, but if he learn how create a server on a pc that work nice, will be really a satisfaction and a good work.

This lag, afterall, is still a soft lag, we can play. Btw who wanna donate can freely donate, i'll never say that lesser lag is bad.

There is nothing *wrong* with either my connection or the pc we're running the server on. It's just that the connection is underdimensioned to handle present needs. The donation money we've received thus far has been used solely for server upgrades, and we're very happy about every cent we've gotten.

if one day you'll really need money to keep up the server, put a mind on google banner to gain something easily. Usually are banner small, not disturbing on the forum view. Luckly ther's a lot of way to survive as amatorial, in internet.

Actually, income from those would me, minimal at best, as most of them depend on people actually clicking on them, not just seeing them.

I have a few contact who are in the VG industry and as well the webhosting industry, I think i may give them a try and see what I can come up with.

you can choose wich type of banner you wanna put on. The one where you need to click give you more money, the one that don't need clicks, give lesser money. In both case, when you reach 100$ they pay you.
Anyway google is only one of lots of site.
