1 Mac, 1 PC... cannot get this game to work on either

Postby Kaenyn » Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:57 am

I cannot get this game to work for the life of me. I have downloaded all the files from all the different links, Pacho, not Pacho, normal, reloaded, deleted, restarted, reset, etc etc etc... I've spent two whole days trying to play on two different computers, one Mac and one PC. I'm lucky I even have one computer... but not being able to get this game to work on either computer is ridiculous. I also have two friends playing Haven and Hearth and they have no problems getting the game to work, but they haven't been able to help me either.

How do you get this game to work? Really... shouldn't you just be able to hit play, without the program saying it can't load the Java, or has an error, or or or... *sigh* My 2500$ Mac laptop can't play a Java game, and my friend's 5 year old PC can. Then my 3 year old PC/Dell can't play it either.

Do I really have to buy a new computer just to play this game?

Somebody please tell me there is an answer to this conundrum?

what OS version on mac? what windows version on pc? what java versions are you running? are your video drivers up to date? have you tried the pacho's jnlp client? the default client? (the "play" button at the top)?

the trouble is definitely software not hardware. you do not need to buy a new pc

It might help if you give just the tiniest amount of detail on how it is failing. ;)
