Farm up for grabs.

Postby Swordmage » Sun Apr 18, 2010 2:15 am

I am beginning to realize that H&H is probably not (in it's current form) a game I can settle into for the long haul.

I think It has a lot of promise, but it seems to need a bit of work. I am get the feeling it will be evolving away from many of the features that make the game fun for me.

I am afraid that the last straw was when I realized that my current project of collecting and storing maps for the SGs in my neighborhood was fated to fail for lack of server diskspace.

Now that that is over, I have some good news. I am taking down my claim on a fairly nice farm in the NW corner of the New B. supergrid (D3--east of sodom). I have a number of moderate quality fields planted, 3 timber houses, and bunches of maps in cupboards, and a several hundred tiles of grassland planted. It is on the northern shore of the northmost river in the NW quadrent.

Or you could you know, make a rough copy of the local map then copy it into paint or something and save it to your own disc. (Cutting and pasting like a mug)

Yeah, I feel your pain with the maps few days ago I picked up some of my fresh maps to design a plan of travel only to find they were missing key pieces I had just added.

On that topic does anyone know of a program that is well suited to building a pasted together region/world map as paint is extremely basic and I can't seem to do much beyond local maps with it.

Try [X]GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program.

Or use it (or mspaint - or whatever braindead paint program you choose) only to cut out the map graphics, then paste the maps as tiles into an [X] Openoffice Calc Spreadsheet (so you can extend it NW by adding rows/columns in case Loftar+Jorb expand the map in this direction).

Thank you very much for such a quick response. I'll give those a try.

There's a Russian client on one of their image boards that automatically saves all the local maps as you boat around. You then run a program that compiles them all into one big ass .png file.

I can see the use for such a thing and I don't want to seem high and mighty but I think that feature is a bit outside my range of acceptable modification and with my experiences with Russian gamers in general and with third party clients for games I'm not terribly trusting of that idea, not to mention the rumors it will steal my info and share it.

It's like stalker all over again. xD

The russians make amazing mods.. But you can't use them unless you speak russian or wait until someone translates it. xD
