stupid newb quesiton + forum for same

Ok, so I just started playing, do not understand it that well yet. Some nice russian guys have given me a place to live and shown me some things, still little things are quite difficult for me.

Right now the problem I am having is that my shoes are gone, and I continue stepping on thorns, I am trying to get a rabbit to make bunny slippers, but I cannot seem to catch one easily. Is there some secret way to catch rabbits? I chase after one and eventually get blocked by terrain and it gets away.

Anyway, sorry for the stupid questions, and yes I have looked at the wiki etc..unfortunately it only provides so many functional answers before I just have to ask.

Is there a more appropriate forum for stupid questions like this, or even better, is there an IRC channel or something similar for this game?

EDIT: I just noticed that maybe my problem was that I was right clicking the rabbit before being close enough..hopefully problem solved.

generally questions go in the "how do i" forum.

for rabbits, left click them to walk right up next to them, then right click them. make sure you have 2x2 free space in your inventory

get a wood block and go to crafting to carve some wooden clogs. that will take care of the thorn in foot problem
