Hello World

Postby Yeturn » Sun May 09, 2010 9:17 pm

I just joined this game last night, then I realized how complex it was and decided to go to sleep as I don't think I could do this sleep deprived. Now I am just incredibly jealous because I have to do homework instead of wasting my Sunday here. Hope I can play this game more often soon. I'm not sure what I want to do once I begin playing for real. Do I want to join an already successful village, or risk losing a lot of time, and create a my own village. I am confused about a few things: does the world get reset often?

This game reminds me of a game I used to play with a friend: RPGWO. I wonder if anyone here has played that game. I am looking forward to playing with everyone!

It gets reset when the devs have got something completely new to try out, or when things get too far out of balance. The game has been on line for just over a year, and has been reset three times.

Well, hello Yeturn. Hope you can play more often too.

BTW I found this very funny parody of Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. These guys are a very funny alcapello group.

Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8PAuvxC ... re=related
Please, don't hurt me!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, is there anywhere I can get help on how to play though? I've already read the FAQ. I can't even figure out how to light a fire. I would be willing to join a village.

In the forum there is a section called "How Do I?" The fifth post there is called "Welcome to H & H, Read me first"

To light a fire right click on the pile of wood. If you are not directly beside it you will walk towards it.

You can also post questions of your own in How Do I, and there is an out of date wiki you can find by searching wikia and Haven and Hearth.

I know I've been gone a while but I'm pretty sure we're still in world 3.

Actually now that I think about it, there were probably worlds before world 1, not necessarily published to the wider internet audience, but worlds none the less. Perhaps there have been many resets?

I propose a hearthling guild be established to study this "big reset" theory

Probably were, don't think anyone here is talking about pre-public wipes since that didn't affect anyone besides J&L and maybe a couple of their friends.

I'd think J&L would've just added more land to their map in those days...Well, if they didn't have a map generator at the time.

Anyhow, my advice for you Yeturn is to join a village. Easier to get started like that and learn the basics from people online.
Some would argue you should find out for yourself, but I think it's nice not being hungry most of the time.
Look for villages in the 'Dwarves and Thieves' section of the forum. Of course, there's no garuntee any village will accept you, but you'll never know until you try it.
I mean, look at Darki. He signed up to join Wayneville (When it was Wayneville) and he was accepted.
