Fishing

Does the day/night time really matter?
I want to catch Brill and I tried every freaking bite/lure available and tried different places but I keep getting Perch only.
Also does your survival skill increases the chance of fish?

Night vs. Day = W/e you want

Survival only increases the quality of fish.

well perch are fairly common. did you try leeches and rock lobster? its also depends on location a bit too. for example, i cuaght alot of brill in rivers but almost never in lakes.

From what I've found fishing during the day sucks unless you want perch/pike as I've seen nothing but that during the day. Nighttime it apparently depends on what moon phase it is and its then I catch lots of awesome things.

I've discovered that it's rare if not impossible to catch every type of fish in a single spot, no matter if it's river or lake, and the different lures you use. The lake I am currently camped at I catch nothing but Pike in the shallows using a woodfish lure in this one spot, but if I move down the shore a bit it becomes nothing but Roach.
