Bottleneck the Vast.

Postby Hamel » Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:02 pm

Just recently, Bottleneck has acquired a large amount of immigrants. Most of which were on at the same time, so we had the largest party I've ever been in before. See below. :)

Even more immigrants are welcome. We are currently undergoing huge renovations.
The grumpiest tree you ever did see.

Character: Hamel, previously Chieftain of Ancient Bottleneck, a founding father of the Confederation of Bottleneck. Currently a hibernating soul.

oh boy, I hope you don't treat them like DF players treat other large immigrant waves.

I feel sorry for the soap makers

I hope they have more use than immigrant waves in DF.

It's good to see bottleneck recovering but why is it that everyone goes to bottleneck straight away?

I wondered that too. There are other fine cities - Laketown and Stillmeadow for sure. I'm not sure if Shady Acres or Clayshire still exist, I hear they do not.
i guess they never miss huh

Pine Valley is another fine settlement if I do say so myself. We officially became a village today, we would have done so sooner if I had not been away the past three weeks. Only problem for anyone wanting to join us though is that there is the requirement of knowing us in real life, as all five of us know each other.

My guess would be advertisement. I'm just hazarding a guess here, but I should think Bottleneck comes up more often on these forums, followed by Laketown, and then the occasional mention of these other places. At least, that's what I think of when I think 'settlements in H&H'.

I think the real culprit, though, would be the topic over at B12.

Mostly the topic at B12 i'd say. But then again, i don't think everyone that goes to bottleneck is B12-er.
We've (laketown) had several people come over to laketown and asked why they came. All of them said because they heard grand things about us. Our reputation obviously is spoiled now thanks to some people but even when it wasn't not many came.
I can count the number of people that ever came down here on my hands and still have fingers left.

Well, Every time I visit Bottlecap I see active players. Every time I visit lakedrown I see cramped houses, poor street design, an ugly lakeside, a huge CLAIM in the center of a TOWN. And general disarray. Ugly ass town.

Also, More than a few times I visited laketown, nobody was on. Just scattered hearthfires. Gross.

Yeah we've been working on the design. And the heart fires are the only evidence of a once blooming town. There's probably around 10 or so all over the place that we can't remove right now.

Poor street design is fixed though. However fact remains there was never a town plan as it just started out with a cabin. then a cabin with a smelter and a mine, etc.

Also, what's wrong with a town claim? That's what they are made for. If you mean the mine claim they grew bigger, that happened because someone thought it was funny to destroy our pavement and i wanted his scents.
