Is this map out of date?

Postby Boom » Sun Jun 06, 2010 4:21 am

I see this map quite often, but I can't find any familiar landforms.

That's the central grid of the old world. It's outdated yes.

Nope and never will be. Ingame mapping is shit boring and tedious resulting in rather crappy maps. Alternative mapping includes some russian client that is rumored to steal passwords (though I haven't actually heard anyone complain) however even that method is inefficient due to the size of the world.

Does the world end, loop, or never end?

world is finite, no loops. if you reach the end of the world in a particular direction you will encounter an invisible wall. it looks like the world continues there, but you can't walk any further

Ends.

Havenmap.tk has some parts of the world but not everything.

dgladkov's client is the one being referred to, as all the clients you can see the source so feel free to look through it if you don't feel safe.

Also I believe the rumor stemmed from a thread on dfwk by a Russian named 'crocodile' where he made a program that compiles the maps however it also goes about stealing passwords to attempt to steal some special information to take the whole password database or some stupid crap.

More like people who have the maps won't be willing to share them. I'm sure that between goons/BN/sodom/russians we have most of the old world (and parts of the new world) mapped. But why share? It would only lead to people being able to exactly pinpoint your location and to have easy access to maps to explore your surroundings.
