Well, I was trespassing on someone's claim (natural born thief, heh.) when I walked into their house out of nowhere the normal house music started playing except it sounded slightly modified and was being played by a piano! I listened till it stopped and rushed out of the house and rushed in...
No new, cool music
I immediately grabbed my boat and hearthed back to my settlement and walked into every house on the 8 house settlement. No cool music either
There was a discussion a while about that, as I recall. I think they said it was a glitch in the midi player or something, making it use the piano instrument for the same song. Thread should still exist, but I just woke up, so I'm too lazy to search...
Strange, I just mentioned it some days ago in C&I. I like the piano version better too, it sounds fresher and more serious.
If you had the midi file, you could run it through a synth using the grand piano soundfont. Although AFAIK kaka only published the ogg ones, I could be wrong though.
Using Vista or 7 you could just mute it with the mixer. Under Linux you can re-route the whole audio through JACK and leave out Java. Mac OS surely has some crappy app for 5USD in its store. With Windows XP you can try to use IndieVolume (didn't work for me though).
Did I miss something?
Oh, and the music YOU listen to, dear ewlol, is far less soothing than kaka's. You may go now.
Usually what I do to mute the music, is instinctively type ":bgm" as soon as I enter the house and the music starts playing (unless it's the piano one, that is). Kills music pretty well.
