What are people up to?

In Laketown we've run out of food and are going a bit nuts on replenishing. We're also moving our fields out of the town center to relieve the lag a little. I've seen two cellars go up (one in my own house).

So far we haven't been doing much in the way of controlling the fruits of our labour... We've all got personal space in which we keep things we're fond of / currently working on, but most things seem to just go into the communal vault.

I'm currently filling up a barrel with grape juice to start wine production. Once it's full to the brim I'll probably go start collecting sand and making bottles. Does anyone know how many bottles come from a full barrel? If it's crap loads I'll probably only fill a wine rack and then keep the rest as vinegar.

I think Kim or Wanderer was keen on starting some cheese making, but I haven't seen any curding tubs yet.

No-one is really doing any mining, and the steel making has more or less ground to a halt (although I'm trying to keep it limping along so we can repay Vattic)... That'll probably pick up again when Gaut gets back.


We've also had an immigrant recently, Jester has been added to the village roster. I haven't seen much of him though because of time zone differences.

So what are people up to inside their settlements these days? Anyone got any mega projects going? Interesting internal political structures?

Finishing the job of getting the new settlement properly established, trying the new technologies (presently working towards curds, which will take a while as I don't even have wine yet), trying to find decent hunting, and uncovering far too many bugs. Also the usual work of keeping myself in food, and the new work of repairing everything in sight.

I'm on sporadically depending on my plans for the day. Lately I've been just making the flour, maintaining/expanding our wheat fields and continuing the flax trails/grinding lp. Other then that, nothing much.

Which settlement are you in? The new goon town? Or something else? We don't hear a lot of settlements on the forums apart from bottleneck and laketown, I'm pretty sure there's plenty more places though.

Interesting that people are all rushing towards curds, especially given how long grape juice was in before wine making was fleshed out.
