First Day... with a Bear at the end...

Well... first of I'd like to say hello to everyone.

I heard of this game by a blogger from eveonline... and as my main PC happens to be fried I figured I'd give it a try.

It's addictive... only one more item crafted, oh enough LP for a new skill, hunt some wabbits  , etc...

It all culminated in my shiny new little log cabin in the woods near my starting point in the wilderness... and my attempt to finally give fishing a try.

I travelled north a bit, towards the lake I know of... only to suddenly get smacked around by a bear. :o

After my first panic, I started running back towards my cabin.. and after taking a couple of forced nap (four times during my flight  ) I finally manage to lock myself into the cabin with the bear waiting outside

But well... I wonder if I'll have enough food in there to last until he's gone... and I guess my next skill to get is already clear  ... I do need to recuperate my HHPs

On a sidenote, I wondered if there's any structure allowing for ranged defence (i.e. a watchtower or having windows to shoot out of)?

Well, time to call it a night. Take care folks.

If you want to keep bears away from your camp and chuck rocks at ones that get close without losing your face to 500 pounds of muscle and anger, I would suggest building a Palisade Wall. Also, animals cannot spawn on claimed land, so claiming the land around you would help keep bears away as well (although they can walk on it). Both a Palisade Wall and Claim will protect you from animals and thieving hermits.
Of another era.

Thanks for the advice :)

I made a roundpole fence adding some extra space for farming... and thankfully I got far enough away from the bear to go fishing... now I need to get my hand on some wool for a gauze while finding out how to go about planting stuff(tm).

P.S.: As obvious... I can't get any shut-eye atm... far to warm.
