Effects of Nature Belief

Postby Eagle_eye » Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:21 am

I was wandering out in the woods today, and a boar happened to walk within two tiles of me and stop. No agression or anything, and after a few minutes it wandered away. I have high nature belief, so I was wondering if that might also serve to make wild animals peaceful?

I also have full nature and I was just mauled by a bear and am often knocked out by boars, so I believe that this must be karma because I was thinking right before I was mauled that the game should be a little more exciting, did you do anything good?
I didn't put anything below my post

Boars and bears only behave aggressively if they're level 5 or higher. They can be lower level if there are village claims nearby, since the claims reduce the level of nearby animal spawns.

Level 3 boars still attack me here. I'm full nature and I don't get any sort of special treatment from boars or bears.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.

Maybe survivalism or stealth affects wild animals aggresion toward you; I have a decent survival stat and boars never attack me unless I attack them first. On several occasions I've been standing 2-3 tiles in front of boars and they completely ignored me (for instance when cooking something in the cauldron and he peacefully walks by).

On the other hand might be their perception of players is just glitchy and therefore completely random...

Boars seem to attack at random. I once tried to suicide an alt with a boar. First time it attacked me immediately, but after I revived I stood infront of him and nothing happened, he even walked away from me. A couple of minues later he finally decided he had enough of me and attacked me again. Next time I revived, I also got attacked immediately. I don't remember what level it was, but eventually I decided I'm just wasting time, so I downed a couple of trees and learned swimming.
