That's not how a DDoS works...when you DDoS someone, you just send an absurd amount of requests or packets to a certain address or endpoint (from many machines, hence the 'distributed' part, in contrast to normal denial-of-service attacks). If you have software handling these requests/packets that software may crash (and in some cases may take the machine as a whole with it). But a general DDoS on a modern network just results in the router getting overloaded; other machines are generally not affected as the traffic is never forwarded to the machines (again, unless you've actually got something listening to the traffic being sent), just the router gets overloaded. This may result in a) nothing happening if the router can handle it; b) internet connection slowing to a crawl (massive packet loss); c) internet cutting out entirely for a while; or d) the router crashing. Regardless of what happens, it will be completely obvious shenanigans are afoot unless the target has such a bad connection they're used to their internet becoming absolute garbage at random moments.

EDIT: I also want to add that I've been surprised by how stable Haven is in low-bandwidth situations, props to Loftar for that. DDoS on a Haven player is likely just going to make the game laggy for that player, but the game keeps running smoothly as long as there's some connection.
