me too
of course everyone has to leave walls to mine or hunt, which are the activities that someone must do constantly when playing this game to get the basic resources they need

farming and crafting and feasting are the only things done within walls probably, and feasting of course doesn't take a significant percentage of gameplay time, unlike all other things mentioned here

The advanced state of the world will be evident in any form of player interaction beyond simply chatting. Hell, the very existence of those bases (instead of there being natural empty space there) is a form of player interaction.

Hello . Had a question about all this world reset thing. Me and my woman , both subscribed players play this world for 9 month and really like it . But are really interested in what's gonna happen to the characters? I mean if they will be deleted what's the whole point in playing at all , all the time and effort put in to the char development ...... So can anyone explain to us how all this gonna be please. Thank you.

World reset means the entire world is set asunder. You will lose your character but maintain your subscription hats and any dev cloaks you may be so lucky to have. The map will be regenerated in a new fashion and there will be madness for the first few weeks and months of that time. The point is to have fun. Then you reroll and try to not be as much of a scrub the second playthrough. New worlds are rare and shiny.

If you've played continuously for 9 months, I can understand that losing all that progress can feel bad. Most people have gotten used to it and are looking for starting with a clean slate, with everyone on the same footing.

we should have two worlds at the same time, one that is permanent(or at least a lot longer), and one with resets

1) A non crossable border (at sea) around one continent/(fixed area).
2) A spawn choice: World P or World R.

Probably already discussed somewhere and rejected.

I agree about the permanent/longer world. A lot of people enjoy the constant progress, whilst taking it easy and on their own pace due to limited playtime or their own reasons. I feel like the vast majority of these players just quit the game and the ones remaining are the ones dictating how the game should be, making it almost impossible for the game to get and retain more new and devoted players. I first played this game some 10 years ago, and had been played it 3-4 worlds in total. Everytime I would quit due to the fact that a major setback makes it near impossible to come back to the game with limited time left in it and is just not worth the time and effort.

But we already do. World 7 is still up last I checked. If you were to split Hafen into two worlds you'd probably get a similar player count on the long-term world. (Though depending on the costs involved it could still be worth a try; it does alleviate the server load issue somewhat as the other world could run on an entirely separate server without taking up resources for the other server.)
