and the only reason why I said "or at least a lot longer" is that who knows if they do not decide to change the map generator to generate the map differently so this might be a change that requires a reset but otherwise having a permanent world for those who want it would be nice, won't many of them quit anyway if they don't receive it(or maybe some already have during all these years)?

for a permament world a thing that I think they could implement is collapsing mines, for the purpose to resupply the running out ore and stone, of course this process shouldn't be too fast and maybe only on unclaimed areas or something, and outside of natural caves, but in actual mined out areas

Isn't this basically what Salem is/was doing?

I'm not expert on Salem but I got the feeling they went with non-resetting world bit too soon (map gen wasn't terrible but for one thing, there's holes you can't fill because you can't carry dirt into the bottom.)

on the subject of multiple worlds, I think we would need a larger player base for that. With current numbers spreading the population thin on multiple servers seems like a waste of resources. I would like to instead see a smaller map , and would love to see a centralized NPC city that players can port to for trading and such, that is one feature I like in Salem "the universal meeting spot".
