Leave the game alone. I have never experienced the game as good as now. Starting a new world would introduce a lot of other players interfering in my play.

they should consider having two worlds then, the second being either permament or very long, I'm sure it would bring some players who would pay for subs and verifications in this case! and the population of this one would be more stable, as the motivation to play wouldn't decrease this much when that world gets old

you may say that at some point when you achieve a lot you will lose motivation, but in permament world there would be one reason less for losing motivation, while in temporary one you have this reason and also knowing that what you do will be wiped soon, and two reasons make more people quit than one reason would, some of the people would also like to actually come back and have their progress still there too

Checking this place every couple weeks in hopes of a reset to play again. Can we get some kind of like 'no wipe for at least 6 months' confirmation? Want to play again, but don't want to invest time if its going to be wasted by a surprise wipe next week or next month.

Thanks for not releasing the new world in April while I was away on my honeymoon. I'm back now, ready to give you all my money. Feel free to announce the dev stream tomorrow <3

I think there are good reasons to reset the world as well as reasons to not reset the world.

If there isn't a meaningful update for the world, if the dev's don't have time or spirit at the moment to manage a fresh world, or there is still a respectable population still playing.

Concern people are expectant of resets isn't an especially logical argument against a reset for an alpha game with many design hurdles to overcome. It is, in fact, a point towards resets: people want them. I assume resets are good for business.

So resetting the world sooner/more often is part of reaching a permanent world.

Or maybe it's easier to keep a reset calendar?

It's a bit hard to explain why a reset calendar is bad. Instead imagine how it would effect your life if you knew the date that you would die.

It would allow me to get shit in order before I leave this world instead of having the people around me deal with the consequences of my unexpected death and forcing them to come to terms with my absence with possibly shitty timing.

Knowing the reset date in advance would let me plan my vacation days more properly and stops me from starting some big game three weeks before the reset (which I would then not finish because I'd drop it for Haven). Likewise, people would not be discouraged from playing knowing there's not going to be a reset for the next three months.

Haven is not the only game with regular resets. Rust has regular, planned resets, and it doesn't stop people from playing the game except right before the reset. Losing your progress is intimidating the first time it happens, but after that it simply becomes part of the game.
